Travel Documents & Safety Tips

Passport: Ensure that your passport is valid through your planned stay and does not expire within 6 months of your planned stay. Tourist Card (FMM) Travel Visa: Mandatory for U.S. tourists. Good for up to 180 days and must be filled out onboard or online. Keep it safe—it’s required for departure. Airline ticket & proof of lodging: Border agents may ask for these (hotel confirmation or host invitation letter) Customs declaration: On flights or at land crossings—declare items, large amounts of cash (> $10,000 USD), or restricted goods. Travelers with Minors: If traveling with children who won’t have both parents present, a notarized letter of permission and birth certificate is required. ------ SAFETY TIPS ------ Water: Don’t use tap water—even to brush teeth. Stick with bottled water. Neighborhood safety: Colonia Americana, Providencia, Tlaquepaque, Andares plaza are popular and generally safe—especially by day Electricity: Same as U.S.
