We met on Facebook in 2012. Anthony added me on Facebook and the rest is kind of history. He started out with the whole "Do I know you? You're cute." type of messages. We all know that it's just a ploy to talk to a cute girl. Well, it worked and here we are today nearly 8 years later. We first met officially at Lloyd pool and I ended up fainting in front of him about 10 minutes into meeting for the first time because of the summer heat and low blood sugar. I must have made a good first impression because then he was begging to see me again! We went back to school for the year and Anthony was every girl's dream. He would bring me bouquets of flowers just because, candy and we always had date nights. Our first kiss was on the fourth of July at the riverfront under a tree watching fireworks. We dated all through high school and even though Anthony graduated in 2013, we continued to have a great relationship juggling school and work. After I graduated in 2016, we started to gather what we were going to do. I went to college for 1.5 years locally and he continued to work. Community college just wasn't for us and based on what we wanted to do, we decided to not move forward. Now, Anthony works as a coil technician at Flanders in Evansville and I have been training dogs for a couple of years now on my own and at dog care facilities. We moved in together around late 2016, early 2017 to an apartment. We since then have purchased our own home on the east side of Evansville. Beyond our accomplishments of jobs and owning our own home, we have a lab mix and a purebred labrador named Blair & Raven. We both could spend hours going on about our fur-children. They are our whole world and not gonna lie, we're crazy dog people. But, I guess you can say our relationship just kind of happened. We not only are best friends but, we couldn't imagine going through life without one another.
Anthony has always been a man of many surprises. Months before proposing he went to my favorite jewelry store-- Drostes. He looked around and he knew from the previous conversations we had that If he ever proposed I really wanted a ring from Drostes. I wanted something super simple since I work with dogs too. He settled for a nice solitaire ring and once it was ready it was time to find the right time to propose. Well it was September 24, 2019 and we had an eventful day. It was his day off, and he went the whole day with it in his pocket. We happened to attend my usual tuesday night agility lesson with all of my dog show people and he didn't have the guts to get down on one knee like planned (; Soo, after my lesson we loaded up the dogs and headed home. I noticed he was being super affectionate all night. I didn't think anything of it. I came home, took a shower, got in bed with my dogs and thats when it happened. I happened to be watching a Youtube video of a couple who I knew got engaged. I laughed and said "maybe us one day?" gesturing to my phone screen and he chuckled. I said something like "It'll be 2045 before we get engaged" laughing. He was laying on his side next to me and when I said that he pulled out a tiny ring box and said "Well-- I guess there's no good time to ask you and it's not 2045 but; Will you marry me?" I didn't say a word. I just laid there in awe so confused. I honestly thought it was a joke! After what felt like an eternity of silence of course I said yes! I was in utter shock and had no idea! The day I had really proved to me how much he loved me and would do anything for me. It made it that more special to be alone with him surrounded around what we love which is our dogs and spending time together. I wouldn't have had it any other way.
