FAQs

Our aim is to ensure a seamless and enjoyable experience for everyone during this trip. To address any concerns you may have, we have provided some frequently asked questions below. If you still require assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out to either Kelly or Ephraim, who will do their best to help!
Question

How do I get to Cartagena?

Answer

You can fly to Cartagena Rafael Nunez Airprt (CTG). The airport is 3.5 miles from the Old Town, and taxis can take you from the airport to your accommodation. Uber is available although their legal status is questionable. We recommend taking a taxi.

Question

Do I need a visa?

Answer

For American citizens, no visa is required. Your passport must be valid at time of entry and for duration of stay. If you are a citizen of another country, please check with your respective country whether a visa is required.

Question

What activities will take place each day?

Answer

More details will be given as we get closer to the date. If there is a particular activity you are interested in, please let us know!

Question

Should I rent a car?

Answer

Rental cars are available in Cartagena although an international driving permit is required. However, the US State Department advises against driving due to lax traffic laws and poor infrastructure. Within the city, Old Town is best explored on foot or bicycle which can be rented. In addition, taxis are readily available and a convenient way to get around. More details about taxis: when taking a taxi, always ask for the price. There are no meters and drivers can overcharge tourists. When you stop a taxi, tell them where you are going and ask how much the fare is. Make sure you've established an agreed upon price before getting into the taxi.

Question

What's the dress code?

Answer

Feel free to dress as you would for a beach vacation. In April, the temperatures will be in the 80s F. For the ceremony, [dress code?]. [something for bachelorette party?]

Question

Why don't I see a registry?

Answer

While your presence at our wedding would mean the world to us, we want to emphasize that your presence alone is truly the most meaningful gift. We are fortunate to have such amazing friends like you, and your love and support are what truly matter to us. In light of this, we kindly request that you do not feel obligated to bring a wedding gift. Your attendance and well wishes are more than enough. We understand that attending a wedding involves time, travel, and expenses, and we want you to enjoy the day without any additional burdens. If, however, you still wish to honor us with a gift, we would be happy to receive a recommendation! For a new restaurant we might like, an adventure we need to try, a book we should read, anything you think we might enjoy!

Question

Where do we stay?

Answer

If people are interested, Ephraim and Kelly will rent a large Airbnb so many friends can stay together with them. In addition, there are many hotel and Airbnb options in the area that fit a large range of budgets.

Question

Are kids allowed for the event?

Answer

We are aware that many of our friends have young children. Kindly inform us in your RSVP if you will be accompanied by your little ones. We warmly welcome them to partake in select events.
