Where should I fly into?

Answer

Flying into Islip-Long Island MacArthur Airport will typically provide you with the easiest access to Wading River. We recommend flying Southwest, but Frontier Airlines and Breeze Airways have flights into Islip as well. Islip-Long Island MacArthur Airport offers on-site car rentals, or you can utilize Uber or Lyft for the approximately 20-minute ride to Home2 Suites by Hilton Brookhaven or 35-minute ride to East Wind. Guests may also consider flying into JFK and either renting a car for the roughly 90-minute drive to East Wind or taking the AirTrain to the Long Island Railroad. Guests can take the Long Island Railroad to either Ronkonkoma or Port Jefferson. Each station is a 25-30 minute Uber or Lyft ride to Wading River.

Where should I stay?

Answer

We have secured room blocks at the Inn and Spa at East Wind and Home2 Suites Brookhaven. Please check the "Hotel Block" tab for more information. Guests are also welcome to stay at a hotel, Airbnb, or vrbo of their own choosing. Other hotel options within a short drive include the Hotel Indigo, the Hilton Garden Inn Riverhead, and the Residence Inn by Marriott Long Island East End. However, those hotels have limited availability for our wedding weekend. Airbnb and vrbo may also have houses for rent in neighborhoods nearby.

Do I need a car during my stay?

Answer

Wading River is a residential/rural area, but you may not need a car for a short stay if you choose to stay at the Inn and Spa at East Wind. You can opt to utilize a ride-sharing service just to get to and from the hotel. The hotel has a salon and spa on premises, as well as a restaurant. You can also make the short walk to the Shoppes at East Wind next to the hotel. This quaint shopping area features restaurants, a coffee shop, a pizza place, an ice cream shop, and boutique stores.

Do I need to worry about traffic?

Answer

Summertime on the East End of Long Island is one of the busiest times for tourists, weekenders, and day-trippers. While driving to Wading River from Ronkonkoma or Riverhead may only take 35 minutes or 25 minutes respectively without traffic, summer traffic can add more time. Allow at least an extra 20 minutes for traffic. Please keep in mind that our ceremony will start at 6:15 pm.
