We met at Outsidelands, a music festival in San Francisco. The connection was instant. We saw each other around the festival for the next two days and on Sunday, we spent the whole day together. We took a chance on each other and Kaitlyn flew out to San Diego the next weekend. We've been in love ever since!
A weekend trip to Temecula to go wine tasting was planned with our friends. We all met at the house we rented nearby, then off we were to our first stop at Callaway Vineyard & Winery. After a few tastings, we all got everyone together to take a group photo. Kaitlyn asked Ian to take a couples picture, which was his plan all along. As we were taking our pictures, Ian got down on one knee and proposed! Kaitlyn turned around and not only were all our friends there, but our families were there for the surprise as well! When we got back to the house it was fully decorated. It was the most magical day and we were so happy to spend it with people we love!
The decision to postpone our wedding was very difficult. We had two top goals while we were planning our wedding. One, we want the friends and family we loved to be able to be a part of it. Two, is that we want our wedding to be a happy, easy experience for everyone. Given the concerns and uncertainty in the current situation, we didn't want to put any of our friends or family at risk. We cannot wait to celebrate with everyone May 14, 2022!
