They started with a simple sushi date in Bayshore, followed up by drinks at The Villager. In typical Amber fashion, they chose to uber for the night so they didn't need to worry about driving. While getting settled at the bar in Babylon, JP received a phone call from his mom stating that our cars slammed into each other. JP being himself, he decided to hang up and explain to Amber that his mom is a little dramatic sometimes he was sure it was fine. After one Irish Car Bomb, Ann (JP's Mom) decided to send photos... it was true, someone had hit and ran JPs car into Ambers while they were parked in front of his house in Deer Park. Needless to say, the photos were followed by many more drinks, a series of insurance calls, and 6 years of dating. And that is how their story was written.
For years JP and Amber were talking about going to visit the largest aquarium in the United States. They have both been scuba diving together and have bonded over their love for the sea. Finally after a long wait they took their vacation to Atlanta, home of The Georgia Aquarium. That is where he popped the question! They were on a private tour, getting a different perspective from above the tanks. Surrounded by millions of gallons of water and the most unique sea-life, JP got down on one knee. He could barely get the words out he was so nervous. Amber caught by surprise had nothing else to say other than "yes!". After the fact Amber admitted she had looked at JP's pockets before going into the aquarium to see if anything was the shape of a ring box. She didn't notice anything and convinced herself otherwise. It was the biggest surprise and overall- breath taking. Being surrounded by one of a kind whale sharks and having this intimate moment was the most perfect experience.
