We met in 2018 at a company called Welltok, where what started as a shared curiosity between coworkers slowly turned into something more. Though we both hesitated to blur the lines between work and romance, the connection was undeniable. Just before the world shut down in 2020, we finally decided to see where things could go. The timing turned out to be perfect—an empty office made it easy to keep our secret, and a lot of time together made it impossible not to fall in love.
Tahoe has held a special place in our story from the start. One of our first trips together was to visit Molly’s mom, Bobbi, who lived in nearby Carson City. Molly had planned to make the sixteen-hour drive with her dog, Kingsly, but Joe insisted she needed a travel buddy who could take over some driving shifts. What followed was two unforgettable weeks exploring the lake, hiking, and discovering just how much we loved being together outdoors. We’ve returned to Tahoe many times since—including an incredible two-month stay during ski season with friends—and it’s become a place that feels like home. There was no better backdrop for the next chapter of our story.
