Road to Hana is a must for anyone looking for a little more adventure. This will require a rental car and a good chunk of time (preferably an entire day). Waterfalls, banana bread, our favorite hike, and so much more can be found on this trip. Let us know if this is on your itinerary and we will send you the worlds longest email with everything you need know.
This is Liv's favorite beach and where we got engaged! Try to go on a cloudless morning/windless afternoon. The Makena cloud tends to hang over the entire beach so if you see it's clear, do not hesitate (also call Liv because she will want to join you). Please note that this beach has a shore break. When the waves are big, getting in and out of the water will test your knowledge of the ocean. Please be safe. When in doubt, don't go out!
Our second favorite beach and better suited for the floaters, snorkelers, chillers of the world.
If you're sick of warm weather and have never watched the sun set from the top of a dormant volcano, make your way up the mountain. We highly suggest warm clothes. A ski parka if you have it. And always bring bevs, snacks, blankets, and chairs.
Our favorite coffee shop on the island. Order your latte with coconut milk if you're feeling extra tropical. And don't forget a chocolate croissant.
Our favorite burgers on island. Be sure to also order a wagyu chow fun for good measure.
If you do nothing else on this list, go here for lunch. Tell them Liv and Anth sent you and drop a small fortune on the worlds best fish tacos, mac salad, and poke bowls. Be sure to get there by noon because they sell out fast.
This is the restaurant where Liv worked for 5 years. Order a mai tai or two and then uber your happy, little self home.
