Wedding Plan

09 25 2021

Planning a wedding during a global pandemic is a unique challenge. With uncertainty still present when our planning commenced, we eventually decided to move forward with a micro-wedding including just immediate family and those in our ceremony in order to minimize risks and allow us to make reliable plans regardless of how the pandemic progresses. We truly wish that ALL of our friends and family could be present on our special day, and look forward to the opportunity to celebrate with each of you someday soon! We appreciate your understanding. Our intimate ceremony will take place on the grounds of a private cabin on the banks of the Wenatchee River in beautiful Leavenworth, WA.

How We Met

09 11 2015

While attending OSU back in 2005, we lived 2 blocks from one another, yet somehow never cross paths. After college, we each settled into the craft beverage industry, Scott at 2 Towns, and myself at Flat Tail, and although we had some mutual friends over the years, it wasn’t until September 2015 that our worlds serendipitously collided. We finally crossed paths at a Corvallis Beer Week event held at Flat Tail, Scott representing 2 Towns, and myself making a quick appearance after a long day at work. Both of us were on the mend from previous relationships and neither of us was looking for love, however, after a lively conversation amongst friends, the chemistry between us was undeniable. We immediately hit it off and found we have a lot in common! That night Scott had plans to get home early and order the new iPhone at midnight, I boldly canceled his cab to extend our night, and he happily went along with it as his priorities had seemingly shifted. We proceeded to tear up the town, having so much fun that we both forgot to exchange numbers. Luckily, our mutual friend Super-Dave saw the sparks between us and took matters into his own hands, putting our numbers in each others’ phones and shooting off a “This is Scott from 2towns” text. The next morning we began texting and picked up where Dave had left off as if we had known each other for years. We enjoyed the rest of Corvallis Beer Week together (with perma-smiles and little sleep) packing in non-stop fun, most notably our first date; BINGO on the rooftop at Sky High, followed by an 80’s dance party hosted by 2 Towns. Following this whirlwind week, things seemed too good to be true, so we decided to slow down and just get to know each other. We adopted the turtle as a symbol of our relationship, referring to our willingness to be patient and not move too quickly as we felt things out at this stage in our lives. Eventually, we let fate win out and made things official a few months later… and the rest is history!

The Proposal

07 11 2020

As turtles, we took our time enjoying each stage of our relationship while creating a strong foundation and having a ton of fun along the way. After 5 years of falling in love and building a life together, the turtles finally decided to get married! Scott had developed a secret plan to propose in Italy, a place his family is originally from and I was dying to visit. Like many things in 2020, his grand scheme did not go as planned due to circumstances outside of our control, so he moved to plan B. We have a shared love for the outdoors and no shortage of adventures in our years of dating, but somehow backpacking had never been checked off our list. With social distancing in full effect, Scott saw this as the perfect opportunity to take me on my first-ever backpacking trip and make it extra memorable. We headed out with a few close friends to Santiam Lake in the Willamette National Forest, and on a sunset walk during the last night of our trip, Scott got down on one knee on the bank of the lake with the sun setting on Three Finger Jack and asked me to be his forever adventure partner. Obviously, I happily said YES! and we spent the rest of the evening in mosquito nets celebrating with good friends... Worth it!
