Justin and I met at the Red Zone on a Badger Saturday. Go Bucky! He was with a friend from college that I knew. After saying "hi" to the friend, Justin and I officially met and proceeded to talk the rest of the night. Justin and I attended the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, crossing paths in Mitchell Hall. He was a wrestler, and I was an athletic training student. It was not until that Saturday in Madison that we would officially meet. From the beginning, our relationship has felt so natural and authentic. Our morals, life goals, and interests align, and we feel we have found our soulmates in each other.
Justin and I went on a hiking trip to Zion National Park in Utah. The first day was consumed with rental car issues, and you can imagine the mood. After what we thought would be a day filled with two beautiful hikes turned into finding a car mechanic to replace a faulty battery. Justin, the "glass half full" kind of guy, was visibly upset about the issue at hand. Now looking back, it was apparent why he was so distraught. His plan was not going as planned, and he didn't know if he would be able to pop the question that first day. We ended up doing one of the hikes near sunset, and we were excited to put the car troubles behind us. The hike was gorgeous! At the end of our hike, Justin was "looking" through binoculars for a bighorn sheep; our goal was to see one on the trip. He said he spotted one, but I knew he didn't. I humored him and took a look through the binoculars, and I could hear Justin rumbling behind me. I turned around to him on one knee and answered the easiest "yes" of my life!
