About Us

** Update | Wedding Date postponed from June 13, 2021 to August 7th, 2021** --- Emily and Jason met for the first time on July 24th, 2016! Their first date was brunch at Essex Restaurant on the Lower East side. It was a bright and sun filled afternoon and since the couple were hitting it off, they extended date number one by heading across town for a drink at “Grand Banks”, a bar on a sailboat that docks in Manhattan each summer. You may recognize the boat from Emily and Jason’s save the date! Visit the photos section of this site to see a picture from the first date over 4 years ago! The couple was introduced through a series of very fortunate events! Jason attended the 30th birthday party of Nicole Weathers. At this party was Nicole’s friend, Hope Skibitsky. Hope is the best friend of Beth Budnick, the bride’s older sister. After getting to know Jason, Hope connected the dots and put Emily and Jason in touch! Jason chose New Orleans as the city to propose in because there is a Grand Banks cafe operated by the same owners of Grand Banks in NY. The couple visited the NOLA cafe after they became engaged under the “Tree of Life” in Audubon Park on February 16th, 2018. Emily and Jason cannot wait to celebrate with you all in the summer of 2021 !!
