Our Story

John 10:10

I met Jenna by the grace of God while we were both attending the University of Texas at Austin. Although we had crossed paths through mutual friends before, we truly began to get to know each other while living at The Block. During our first real encounter there, Jenna was looking for one of my roommates to take her to a sorority rush event—but I quickly stepped in and offered to take her instead. Over the next few weeks, our friend groups began spending more time together. One day, Jenna suggested we all play pickleball, and even when plans started to fall through, she insisted we still go. Afterward, I asked Jenna to attend the Texas vs. Alabama football game with me. We woke up early that morning, and later that night took a walk through Pease Park, where we shared our feelings for each other for the first time. A few days later, I planned our first official date at Juliet Italian Kitchen, and just weeks after that, I asked her to be my girlfriend. We spent the rest of college side by side—going to football games, attending date events, studying together, traveling, and spending time with friends and family in New Braunfels. After graduation, we faced our first season of long distance as Jenna worked at TBarM and I began my career with Gensler in San Antonio. We made the most of weekends together in New Braunfels and San Antonio, along with the occasional midweek dinner in Johnson City. Later, Jenna began her role with Ford and spent time training in Detroit, which gave us the chance to explore a new city together before returning once again to long distance. Eventually, she was placed in Houston, bringing us closer than ever before. Despite busy schedules and frequent travel, we continued to prioritize our relationship and began seriously talking about our future together. As those conversations grew, I began planning the proposal. Jenna knew something special was coming, but she didn’t know when. On the day I planned to propose, she thought we were simply touring a wedding venue. Instead, I drove her to The Island, where I had prepared the perfect setting. There, I asked her to marry me—and with overwhelming joy, she said yes. Surrounded by friends and family, we celebrated and began planning the day we would become the Webbs. - Tyler Webb
