On September 5, 2012, John and Sarah got seated next to each other in Mr. Powlin's AP physics class, though if you were there you would have thought it was chemistry! The next year they started a two-year relationship through the early years of college. After getting back in touch seven years later, they quickly picked up where they left off and found they loved each other even more than before.

After a year and a half together, Sarah and John made their first trip to Europe together. The day they got engaged, they spent time sight-seeing in Florence, touring a Tuscan winery, and exploring Roman ruins. At an olive grove in the Tuscan hills, John proposed to Sarah over a private dinner.
