our love journey

Picture it, like a scene out of a movie when prince charming saves the princess.... well kind of...

Honestly, looking back over the years, neither Mike nor Randi remember the first time they laid eyes on each other or how exactly they met. Romantic right? Over 9 years ago they met through mutual friends. Mike and Randi hung out often with their friends which eventually turned into them hanging out and working out at LA Fitness together. After working out, they would go to their favorite spot for their cheat meal, Liones. If you are local, you know that’s the best pizza in Downingtown. After being stuffed from Liones, they would go back to Mikes house and sit on the back porch, look at the stars and talk for hours. If you know Mike or Randi, you know that both of them are stubborn. For a while, they both liked each other but neither said anything to the other and they just remained friends. Fast forward a little bit, Mike and Randi both started dating others which came to an end leading to Randi reaching out to Mike to use his truck and to help her move. Mike helped Randi pack up and move which rekindled their friendship. Even though they didn’t see each other for a while, it was like nothing changed, they picked up right where they left off at. This led to Randi and Mike to their old ways, texting every day, doing everything together, hanging out and of course sitting on his porch talking for hours under the stars. They literally were inseparable. Remember when it was mentioned that Mike and Randi are stubborn? Well Mike never asked Randi to be his girlfriend and Randi was too scared to ask if they were dating. Neither of them remembers a moment in time where they went from best friends to dating, it just happened. It was just natural but neither of them remembers that either. Mike and Randi just kind of came about and the rest is history.

the proposal

July 13, 2022

Earlier that week, Randi and Mike had been cleaning the house and getting ready for Mike’s nieces to come over for swimming and dinner since they were visiting from Tennessee. On that Wednesday morning, Randi changed into her lavender scrubs and rushed out the door to work. Naturally, Mike slept in since he was working from home that day and had to take Sammy to a vet appointment. Randi had been busy at work and text Mike asking how the appointment went for Sammy. Mike said it went well and that Sammy got a new bandana at the vet. Randi had asked for a picture, but Mike said, “You’ll see it when you get home”. As mentioned, Randi was having a busy day and did not have her phone on her for most of the day. Mike kept texting, saying how he had been cleaning on day, he couldn’t sit down, “I cleaned this… I did the laundry… I did x, y and z”. It was later in the afternoon and about 10 texts later when Randi responded to Mike to sit down and stop cleaning, “Just stop cleaning and relax. It’s just your nieces, the house doesn’t have to be perfect”. Little did Randi know that Mike was anxious and the reason why Mike couldn’t sit still was because he was going to ask the biggest question of his life in a few short hours. Fast forward to when Randi got home from work, Sammy was outside barking at the door to come in and Mike was being weird. Randi unpacked her work bags and lunch box and started loading her dirty dishes into the dishwasher (which she never does right away). Mike said, “Why are you doing that, just let your dog in, she has been waiting for you all day!” to which Randi responded, “No! You spent all day cleaning. I’m not going to just leave dirty dishes in the sink!”. (that backfired for Mike). Mike kept telling her to stop doing the dishes and to let Sammy in. Randi now annoyed that Sammy was barking at the door to come in and didn’t understand why Mike couldn’t just open the door and let her in and let her finish loading the dishwasher. Randi finally opened the sliding door to let Sammy in who of course was so excited to show her mommy her new bandana. Randi could not get Sammy to sit still to read her new bandana, finally after what felt like an eternity for Mike, Randi read the pink bandana on Sammy, “Mommy will you marry Daddy?”. Randi turned around and Mike was on his knee and popped the question! To which of course Randi said, “Are you serious? Is this real?” To this day Mike still doesn’t think Randi ever said “Yes” but he assumes so since she took the ring and ugly cried.

For all the days along the way
