We met on Match.com. I was on for a total of 20 minutes before I messaged Jarred with that first awkward "Hi there, how are you?". We both thought each other was too good to be true. Jarred asked for photos several times to make sure I wasn't pretending to be someone I wasn't. He says he was convinced I was going to be a 6’4” black man that showed up to our first date. At the same time, I kept thinking to myself, is this guy real? A good looking man, who has a job and claims to have no kids. There has to be something wrong, right? He has to be a creep, married or gay??? Lol We continued to message each other, and met for dinner a week later. We both agree that it was love at first sight!
I had probably asked Jarred to marry me over a hundred times, and he always told me "NO". He believed he should be the one to ask. I was beginning to get very impatient, but little did I know that Jarred had the ring for several months trying to plan the perfect time to ask. Unfortunately, things kept coming up every time he planned on asking. We lost a special family member at the beginning of the year, another family member got engaged, and a few days just didn't go as planned for him. FINALLY, on a lazy Sunday in our living room, he popped the question. After complete shock, I of course said YES!!
