Our Story

Bryson and I met by the perfect twist of fate where I ended up in a Spanish class I didn’t sign up for, and he was a friendly face who lit up the whole room and always had everyone laughing. I had no friends in that class and was quiet and kept to myself, smiling at all the many jokes Bryson would crack. Everyone loved him, including our teacher, even though he constantly interrupted. I, the straight A student caught his attention when it came time for group work, he began to sit with me, ask me for notes and help (although he says he didn’t need help he just wanted to get to know me). I happily obliged because I’d never met someone as easygoing, full of joy, confidence and life as him. His temporary seat with me quickly turned more permanent, and sharing notes became all night phone calls, sharing headphones and constant texting. Then came Covid, a real test because we went from seeing each other every day to an indefinite amount of time before seeing each other again. The days were long, we missed one another and to his dismay I was not allowed out of my house. He asked persistently to see me but I had to refuse. It was a tricky road to navigate, a global pandemic and the potential relationship we both wanted but couldn’t seem to make happen. After many weeks of begging, my parents decided he could come over to meet them. He stole their hearts by showing them his, and soon after we were officially dating. I had my first real boyfriend, little did I know he’d be my last. The time flew by, enjoying high school dances, football games, wrestling matches and the joys of young adulthood. We adventured and compromised and learned and before we knew it we knew we wanted to marry each other. The only question, when? I began college and he began working, both with the certainty of the other as our future but waiting on the right time. As time passed I grew anxious to know what he was thinking about our future, and soon after we went ring shopping, even though he’d already bought me a ring, he’s ever so sneaky. Many months passed with me growing more and more anxious wondering what could be the holdup, but come to find out all was coming in perfect time. Bryson planned the most perfect proposal I could have ever dreamed of, an island he had selected at the age of 15, just before we met, as the location he would ask his future wife to marry him. How amazing the Lord is to orchestrate our paths to cross, to pour into our relationship with grace and mercy. I feel incredibly blessed to know this man, my soul rejoices at the thought of forever with him!
