the time has come

It all started before I began my first semester at the University of St. Thomas. I was attending our volleyball summer open gyms where I met the infamous matchmaker & one of my senior teammates, Kaitlynn. Towards the end of the summer, Kait & I had gotten to know each other pretty well & that’s when she told me she had the perfect guy for me. This perfect guy was also her boyfriend’s roommate & basketball teammate. I didn’t think too much of it since we had only known each other a couple of months…but once she showed me some pictures I saw he was pretty cute & thought I’d be dumb to pass up getting to know a cute guy. We finally had our awkward introduction in the Jerabeck hallway where Kait told Bryon that I would be joining their Thursday night movie night. Bryon graciously said he’d “pencil me in” (annoying). The first Thursday night came & we got 5th wheeled by our teammate Lizzie… it was alright though I was still a little too shy to be in that double date situation already. After our first botched movie night, I ran into Bryon walking back to the dorms after class. Bryon was rumored to be a masterful essay writer (according to his professors) & talked to him about editing my essay. This would be the first time we hung out alone & we ended up watching YouTube videos, talking & laughing a lot before finally getting my essay edited. The next movie night dramatically improved. Jason & Bryon decided on Harry Potter since Kait & I hadn’t seen it before. Except…Kait & I barely heard what was going on since Jason, Josh, & Bryon decided to ad-lib the entire movie as Daquan Potter. There were lots of laughs & every time I’d turn around from talking to Bryon I’d catch a glimpse of the other three fist pumping the air & silently screaming. We continued with movie night & some date nights here & there as the end of October neared. Then in the early hours of October 27th Bryon asked me to be his girlfriend & now you all are joining us for our wedding six years later.
