They say you find your wife at Young Life, and our story is no different. Central Phoenix Young Life is where we first met, and it gave us a common link: Emi McGuire (trust us, this is important). Roman’s random visits to North Rim apartments at GCU and playing pickleball with mutual friends didn’t seem like much at the time, but looking back, that’s where it all began. Not long after Brynn’s graduation, she started a ropes internship at Lost Canyon. Little did she know, that internship would be the subject of Roman's first text to her. It started off all business, we even had a formal meeting in the student union to talk about the internship. But pretty quickly, the ropes questions turned into debates about Chacos vs. Tevas, and texts to see how the other person's day was. As we kept talking, our interest in each other grew stronger. College Weekend at Lost Canyon coincidentally made us pickleball partners. The laughs (and wins) made us both want to spend more time together. Roman had accepted a ropes internship, and Brynn was stepping into a year-long role. To Roman’s surprise, a VERY IMPORTANT call from Emi McGuire made it clear that none of that meant he shouldn’t ask Brynn out. So instead of waiting nine months till the end of summer... he finally did. November 12th was our first date. The five-hour night, spent walking around Tempe Town Lake, eating Hawaiian pizza (the best kind), and sharing ice cream felt like a blur. We never wanted it to end, but reluctantly we went home and quickly set up the next time we could see each other. Since that night, we’ve spent our time laughing together, hiking together, working together, and making plenty of 2.5-hour drives just to see each other. We've found that the moments we spend apart are never as good as the ones when we're together, so we’ve chosen to spend the rest of our lives side by side. Our journey has led us to find not only our partner, but our best friend. We are so excited to take the next steps of our journey to the altar, and hand in hand, wherever life takes us from that moment on. We hope you will join us! -Brynn and Roman
