Liberia International Airport (LIR)

The Liberia Airport (LIR) is conveniently located in the Guanacaste province and is just a 1.5-hour drive to Las Catalinas.. There are direct flights to this airport from most major airlines. We recommend flying to this airport due to its quick and easy access to Las Catalinas.

San Jose Airport (SJO)

Fly to the Juan Santa Maria International Airport (SJO), rent a car and take a beautiful road trip to Las Catalinas. After a long flight, we recommend you stay the night in San Jose. This trip will take approximately 4-5 hours if you decide to drive. If you don't want to drive, you can also book transport with Interbus travel, contact reservations@interbusonline.com and will cost $57, will take 4-5 hours, and you get dropped off at the Liberia Airport or your hotel.

There are several well-known rental car companies located inside of the Liberia Airport. A reservation is highly recommended. Renting a car would be a great option if you’re planning to explore more of Guanacaste or the rest of the country. Consider sharing one with friends or relatives! Driving time: 1.5 hours

Red Taxi Service

Taxis are always readily available from the airport and reservations are not necessary. Be sure to take an official Red Taxi. Tip: Make sure to negotiate a fare with the driver before your departure. Small taxis (max 3 guests with luggage) and large taxis (max 6 guests with luggage). Driving time: 1.5 hours
