We met at the University of North Dakota. It was welcome weekend. Sarah, a freshman, was enduring her first night out as a college student. Bryn, a junior, was dressed to impress in his swim trunks paired with a retro Virden Basketball jersey. It worked! We were drawn to each other from that night on. It took 6 months of perfecting our beer pong team and dining out at Grand Forks finest restaurants before Bryn finally found the courage to ask Sarah to be his girlfriend on February 15, 2015.
On May 12, 2020 we vowed to spend the rest of our lives together at the courthouse in Grand Forks, North Dakota. After looking in our closets we decided it was most appropriate to wear our black and white athletic clothes to say yes to forever with each other. Due to COVID-19 and the border being closed, Bryn's parents were unable to make it down for our wedding ceremony. However, we were very fortunate to have Sarah's parents there to support us on this journey. It was not your 'typical' ceremony as we were separated by a window from our officiant and had to conduct the ceremony via speakerphone. Sarah's parents were the MVPs as they took on the roles of parents of the bride, DJs, photographers, videographers and witnesses. Although we enjoyed the uniqueness of our Corona wedding, we are so excited to celebrate with our family and friends this upcoming July.
We are currently in the middle of tackling one more (hopefully last) year of distance as Sarah spends time in North Dakota, Colorado, and Montana to finish off her last year of physical therapy school while Bryn has started working in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area. We are really testing this 'distance makes the heart grow fonder' thing. We are both excited to continue on our individual journey's, but we cannot wait until we finally land in the same country/state/city/home, let the countdown begin! Next up for us, we are anxiously awaiting to finally welcome home our puppy this summer. All name suggestions are welcome!
