Things To Do

We're so excited to share some of our favorite places in the Bay Area with you! Enjoy the natural beauty of the bay area with hikes or dine in some of our favorite local spots.

Muir Woods National Monument

Mill Valley, CA 94941
, (415) 561-2850

Walk through the beauty of the giant redwoods. Please note that reservations are always required. Please allow at least half a day for this experience.

Angel Island State Park

Tiburon, CA 94920
, (415) 435-1915

Take the Angel Island Ferry from Tiburon and hike up to the top for a unique view of the bay. Pack a picnic lunch or enjoy the food available at the ferry landing cafes before heading back to Tiburon. Please allow at least a half-day for this experience.

Muir Beach Overlook

Muir Beach Overlook, Muir Beach, CA 94965
, (415) 561-4700

Muir Beach and Muir Beach overlook are great spots if you are looking to experience the beach in the Bay Area with limited time. A short flat walk from the parking area (restrooms available) to the beach, or drive up the hill to the Overlook for sweeping ocean and coast views. On clear days, you can also see San Francisco. Convenient parking, great for a picnic in either spot.

Sutro Baths + Cliff House

1004 Point Lobos Avenue, San Francisco, CA 94121
, (415) 426-5240

'Modern ruins' of the former Sutro Baths, a short hike down to the water to explore the remaining foundations and sea caves. Afterward, enjoy a coffee or cocktail at the iconic Cliff House. No reservations are required at the bar or cafe. Make reservations if you would like to enjoy a meal with a view of the ocean.

Ferry Building

San Francisco, CA 94105
, (415) 983-8000

A great spot to grab lunch or dinner, walk along the San Francisco waterfront with views to the Bay Bridge and easy access to Market Street, trollys, etc. The Ferry Building boasts a wide range of restaurants, and shops/stalls of local companies including some of our favorites like Heath Ceramics, Hog Island Oyster Company (more than just oysters to be enjoyed!), the Slanted Door, Gott's Roadside Grill, Cowgirl Creamery and Blue Bottle Coffee. A short walk to many other attractions and great places to eat. Enjoy a farmers market in the square three days a week. This is a great spot to find some of the bay areas best- especially if you won't have time to make it out to wine country or Point Reyes.

Twin Peaks

501 Twin Peaks Boulevard, San Francisco, CA 94114
, (415) 831-2700

A grassy 64-acre hilltop park is a popular attraction, with its hiking trails leading up to wind-swept peaks and 360-degree views of the Bay Area. We recommend sunset!

Baker Beach

San Francisco, CA 94129
, (415) 561-4323

Great views of both the ocean and the Golden Gate. Bring a blanket and chill out!

Bouchon Bakery - Wine Country

6528 Washington Street, Yountville, CA 94599
, (707) 944-2253

Pastries by the chef mind of Thomas Keller (The French Laundry) If there is a line, don't worry, it is worth the wait! Beautiful artisan bread and pastries to drool over (chocolate-almond croissants, 'oreo's', and macaron of many flavors) Grab a pastry and a coffee and enjoy out on their patio or while strolling through downtown Yountville or through the French Laundry vegetable garden.

Silverado Trail

Silverado Trail, Napa, CA

If you are headed to wine country, we recommend visiting some of the wineries along the Silverado Trail. Off the main (an generally super busy!) drag of Napa, many of these wineries offer great views of the valley from higher vantage points.

Point Reyes Lighthouse

Inverness, CA 94937

A beautiful drive through West Marin to the lighthouse. Stop in Point Reyes Station to enjoy cheese from Cowgirl Creamery, or head further north to Hog Island Oyster Co. for some oysters right from the ocean. Please allow at least half a day for this trip (a full day is recommended for the best time!)

Napa Valley Wine Train

1275 McKinstry Street, Napa, CA 94559
, (707) 253-2111

*Please let us know ASAP if you are interested in this experience, and we can coordinate a group trip (Options: Thursday May 19 or Monday 23.) "A decadent journey aboard [an] elegant vintage train through the Napa Valley and back to another time: the glamorous days of rail travel. Embrace a slower pace and dine in sophisticated comfort. Choose lunch or dinner, enjoyed in two different types of stylishly refurbished antique Pullman rail cars."

Point Reyes Station

Point Reyes Station, CA 94956

Home of Cowgirl Creamery (cheese!), and charming shops, cafes, bakeries, oyster bars, etc., there is a little of everything for everyone here- stop off on your way to or from the Point Reyes Lighthouse or out to the oyster farms.

Headlands Center for the Arts

, (415) 331-2787

Housed in on of many old converted military facilities throughout the bay, the Headlands Art Center provides artist residencies and is located on the ocean side of the bay amid the beautiful landscape. There are many trails and outdoor areas to explore as well as the gallery and usually sculpture installations in the landscape.
