Although we love your children this will be an adults only event.
Whatever you want to wear! We recommend comfy shoes though because you won't be sitting during the ceremony!
The ceremony is in the Foothills Parkway at mm 18, which is about 45 minutes from the Gatlinburg area. Carpooling is required so let us know if you don't have anyone to carpool with and we can help coordinate. The ceremony starts at 3:30pm, regardless of if everyone is there or not, so try to leave with plenty of time before the ceremony.
Foothills Parkway mm 18 https://maps.app.goo.gl/8KSgGALQhMT68FpM8?g_st=i Use Google Maps with it and it will give you turn by turn directions all the way to the spot! I always recommend coming through pigeon forge, but if you’re in gatlinburg and there is a lot of traffic you can come through the park! Just make sure you pay attention to your gps and don’t make any wrong turns because there is no cell service in the park so your gps will not reroute you if you make a wrong turn. It’s pretty straightforward through! Here are driving directions just incase: From Gatlinburg head into the National Park at traffic light #10. Turn right onto Little River Road next to the Sugarlands Visitor Center. Go approximately 9.5 miles and turn right onto Wear Cove Gap Road to Wears Valley Rd. Make a right and the Foothills Parkway entrance will be on the left then go to the overlook pull off around mile marker 18 (there’s only one there and it’s circular). Through pigeon Forge: From Gatlinburg head south on US-441 N/Parkway towards Pigeon Forge approximately 8.5 miles. Turn left onto Wears Valley Rd for 8.3 miles then turn right onto Foothills Parkway then go to the overlook pull off around mile marker 18 (there’s only one there and it’s circular).
The national park now requires a parking pass for all vehicles. You do not have to pay to enter, just to park. You can obtain that here: https://www.nps.gov/grsm/planyourvisit/fees.htm
The ceremony site only allows a MAX of 6 cars which means carpool is REQUIRED for the 45 minutes from Gatlinburg to the ceremony. If you do not have anyone to carpool with please contact Bryn or Henry to ask how we can coordinate carpooling.
The ceremony will be short and sweet (about 10 minutes long). This means that there will unfortunately be no seating so everyone will stand during the ceremony, so bring some cute comfy shoes!
Immediately following the ceremony is when pictures start, so be ready to smile! There will be one group photo which will then be followed by pictures of others and then some of just Henry and I! Once Henry and I start pictures of just us, you will be directed to head back to the Gatlinburg area. From there you can go back to where you are staying or go out and get a drink before dinner (it will be 5 o'clock somewhere after all!)
Dinner starts at 7:30pm and is being held at The Greenbrier! See you all there! :)
