We went on a blind date to PF Chang's. Bryden was late and kept calling the restaurant to let me know he was on his way and just running a little late. The hostess told me that if she were me she would leave but luckily I did not leave. An hour late, he finally arrived and apologized for his tardiness. Needless to say he is still late to things but I am glad I did not let the first impression of him and his lateness be the deciding factor.
I knew she was the one and very special when she made me my own birthday cake with my favorite super hero on it followed by a loving warm rendition of happy birthday. I've never felt so much love from someone else before. I also knew she was the one when she took me on a trip to Colorado in Galveston, Texas. She took me to Shearn's Stakehouse in Moody Gardens for my birthday and they knew my name before I sat down and that it was my birthday. I was so overjoyed I teared up a little. I knew for sure she was the one when we danced the night away at the Museum of Fine Arts for a Philanthropy event. Only to discover later she doesn't like to dance but wanted to have a good time with me and danced anyway.
I attended Southern University in Baton Rouge, LA. It was October and homecoming was approaching where we were celebrating our 15 year reunion in Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. I planned to attend homecoming but was not able to make it. Bryden surprised me and decorated his house and gave me my very own homecoming experience with a SU decal on the wall and the football game to watch. It was very special and took my breath away that he took time out to make sure that I did not miss a big moment and celebrated the occasion with me even though he did not even know where the school was located...lol. Bryden was loving and kind then and that love and kindness still takes my breath away today.
