How We Met

02.19.2016

Me and Bryce met through a mutual friend. I met Raegan when we were both working at a retail store here in Lubbock. And Bryce met Raegan freshman year at South Plains College. It was just a matter of time before me and Bryce were introduced by her. Once we had met we were friends for a while, and then we were more than friends. We flirted a little when we would hangout with our friends We knew we liked each other after having a 2 hour conversation about how much we love dogs. He asked me out and took me to Torchy's Tacos for dinner so obviously I fell for him because tacos.

The Proposal

11.29.2019

My birthday fell on Thanksgiving this year so Bryce said we have to do all the birthday celebrations on Friday. He told me be ready to go by 2:30, but said nothing else. As we were driving I asked where we were going and he said, "I am not telling you, but the weather is not working out the way I wanted." The weather was cold and very foggy. So, when we pulled up to the park we used to take our dog, Sam, walking at the start of our relationship I wondered why. Bryce said, "I wanted to go for a walk." . We went off the trail closer to the pond and Bryce put down the back pack he was carrying. He said open the 2nd pocket. I opened the bag and there was our favorite wine. A bottle of wine that we specifically bought an extra bottle for when we got engaged. I start crying immediately and he says now open the small pocket and in there was a ring box. He got down on his knee and asked me to marry him. I said, "Yea! I mean yes!" The ring was perfect and I was so happy in that moment. Then, I found out his aunt was in the bushes taking pictures of the proposal. It was perfect! I ask when everyone else will get there or when we're going to meet up and he says, "Oh, no one else knows. All of our friends and families think they are surprising you at dinner tonight, but really you get to surprise them with the engagement." I was so excited and nervous to be able to surprise most of my favorite people. When we got to the restaurant they yelled surprise and I held my hand up and said surprise back to them. It was the perfect surprise and it was the most Bryce way of proposing. I cannot wait to marry my best friend.
