Bryce and Sophie both grew up in Grand Rapids, Michigan, attending schools only about fifteen minutes apart. In the summer of 2018, they each interned at Meijer, but their paths never crossed. A year later, they both happened to land internships at a completely different company in Chicago (Grainger), where fate finally decided to step in. They officially met at orientation during an icebreaker activity, Sophie was focused on winning, while Bryce was just happy to meet new people. Over the summer in Chicago, they got to know each other while exploring the city, catching Cubs games, and finding new spots to eat. When summer ended, Bryce returned to Bloomington, Indiana, for his senior year, and Sophie headed back to Ann Arbor, Michigan. On the very first weekend apart, Bryce drove five hours to surprise Sophie in Ann Arbor, marking the real start of their relationship. The next year was filled with weekend trips between Bloomington and Ann Arbor, getting to show one another their college campuses. 2020 brought its share of challenges with Covid and virtual graduations, but the silver lining was the opportunity to face those challenges together. After graduation, they both moved to Chicago, where they’ve loved building a life in the city, exploring new neighborhoods, traveling, and growing in their careers. Six years later, Bryce planned a surprise proposal in downtown Grand Rapids, followed by a celebration with their closest friends and family - completely catching Sophie off guard. Now it's time to celebrate the next chapter of their story together with everyone they love!
