Bryce and Meg met through a dating app called Bumble in December of 2015. Bumble is the one where the woman makes the first move and basically calls the shots (fitting). Their first date was set for a Sunday night at a Mexican place on Capitol Hill and, when the time came to go, Meg really didn’t want to. It was rainy, cold, and a night spent at home in sweatpants was a very appealing alternative option. Curt and Cathy (Meg’s folks) thankfully convinced her to be a good person and so she went, sat at the bar, and waited for her date. Once Bryce got there the two didn’t stop talking for almost three hours. As the night ended, both knew that they had found something really special and made plans to see each other again just a few days later. They were “official” only a couple weeks after that and haven’t looked back since. They bought their first home, got an adorable pup named Gus, and now are SO ready to tie the knot and make it official!
In July 2017, Bryce and Meg went on vacation to Croatia with her sisters and stayed with their Nona in Komiza, on the island of Vis. During the first couple days they all were there, everyone wanted to go on a hike up to a vineyard that overlooks the town below. The day this hike was to take place on was hot. VERY hot. So hot (and during the perfect ‘nap’ time of day) that Meg was 100% not interested in hiking and basically refused to go. Little did she know that everyone was in on Bryce’s engagement plans and unapologetically harassed her until she finally gave in and agreed to go with everyone. While she did go, she was not pleased (nor very friendly) about trekking along and complained most of the way up (so out of character, amiright?). Once they reached the top, everyone started clicking photos of the views and of each other, and Bryce and Meg posed for what she thought was a regular photo op. With her sisters anxiously looking on, Bryce got down on one knee and, on a hillside in Komiza, asked Meg to be his wife. Bottles were popped and a celebration started as Meg’s Nona spied from below with her binoculars. By the time the group made their way down the mountain, Nona had chilled champagne waiting and the celebration continued. It hasn’t stopped yet! ..
