It was 2018, and Kira & Bryce were unaware of each other leading up to summer following the end of their junior year at SDSU. In setting up a beach hangout, Bryce and his best friend Joe were discussing who to invite when Joe mentioned his high school friend, Kira, who had visited each apartment Bryce had lived in, but never Bryce himself. Bryce simply responded, "Joe, I *definitely* would remember her if I had met her." And on a fateful summer day, just like the water meets the sand, Kira and Bryce met on the shoreline of Pacific Beach. Bonding over the love for R&B music and good food, they started out as friends, and after going out together on some "oh-this-is-a-date?" dates, they made it official. After barely a year of knowing each other, the two would agree to continue their relationship in long distance form as Bryce continued his studies at Boston University and Kira would return home to Toronto to start her career. Their relationship would be further tested with the pandemic as intermittent face-to-face visits turned into daily FaceTimes and Netflix party dates. However, it was a test they passed, as they made it through lockdowns and continued their journey. Which brings us to now in New York City. Bryce fell in love with Brooklyn during an internship and it had always been Kira's dream as a little girl to live in the Big Apple. It was if life was trying to tell them something. They made the move in 2022, and haven't looked back since. NYC continues to provide them opportunities to grow individually and together, for if they can make it there, they can make it anywhere. ♡
