Bryce and Jess first met at a party at Northeastern University in Boston, MA when Bryce was a Middler (Year 3 at NU) and Jess was a Freshman. After talking for most of the evening, Bryce asked Jess out! They dated for a few months, eventually going their separate ways at the end of the semester. ...5 years later... Jess was in New York City for the weekend with Bridesmaids Lauren and Caroline and a few girl friends. They had a blast Friday night out in the city and, in typical fashion, posted some pictures on social media documenting the fun. On Saturday morning, they woke up and were in the midst of planning the day's events when Jess got a text message from a number she didn't recognize. This person had seen that she was in town and was asking her to meet up for coffee or drinks later that day. She couldn't think of anyone she knew who lived in NYC, so she texted back asking who it was...It was Bryce! Jess told him that they were planning to go to Solas in the East Village that night and to meet her there. And the rest, as they say, is history!

One of Bryce and Jess's favorite things to do together is ski. For the last three years, they have been season pass holders at Sugarbush Resort in Warren, Vermont and for the 2019-2020 season they rented a condo close to the mountain with friends Will and Kristen. Like countless other Saturdays that winter, the group woke up and headed to the mountain to get a full-day of skiing in. On their way up the Super Bravo chairlift, Bryce started complaining that his knee was bothering him and that he needed to stop in Allyn's Lodge to try to stretch it out. Jess was a little irritated...they hadn't even done one run yet and they had gotten to the mountain a little later than usual that day. Antsy to get going, she planned to wait outside the lodge in her skis until Bryce was done stretching, but he convinced her to come with him. Once inside, Bryce sat down on the couch in front of the fireplace and Jess sat down beside him. It wasn't until Bryce started talking and fumbling for something in his jacket pocket when Jess realized that his knee wasn't hurt at all! He asked her to marry him and SHE SAID YES!! Bryce suggested that they ski down to the base to have a celebratory cocktail at Rumble's and FaceTime their families. When they walked into the restaurant, Jess was greeted by yet another surprise: Bryce had invited both of their families up for the weekend and everyone was waiting for them in Rumble's to celebrate their engagement!
