It all started on a busy afternoon at Texas Borders. Bryce was serving the bar patio, and with the bar area packed, Brock and his friends grabbed a table outside. From the start, they were all cracking jokes with Bryce, turning what could’ve been just another shift into something a little more interesting. Somewhere between drink orders and one too many jokes, Brock’s friend Blake invited Bryce to meet them at Baker Street the next night. Bryce assumed Blake had definitely had enough to drink, so she did her job and cut him off. Brock? He found this absolutely hilarious and was dying laughing. That’s when Larah (Bryce’s manager at the time and Brock’s sister) leaned over and casually said, “You know my brother is single, right?” Bryce’s response: “Cool, and?” The next day, Bryce was back at work, and sure enough, Brock and Blake showed up at the bar double-checking she was still coming out. Bryce agreed, and that night they all met at Baker Street. The following night, Bryce invited Brock to Whiskey River, and he brought Blake again. At one point, Blake asked Bryce what her type was. Her answer? “Brunette, blue eyes, tall.” Brock caught on since she was definitely talking about him. Still unsure if Brock was actually interested, Bryce invited him bowling. The secret test? If he brought friends, it wasn’t a date. If he came alone… it was. He showed up solo to Time Square, ready to bowl (badly). Despite all the gutter balls, their first real date felt kind of magical. Although, in true Brock fashion, he had no clue it was a date. That night sparked something, and the next day Brock invited Bryce over for breakfast, which is his version of the first date. He cooked omelets, bought a fruit tray, and laid out a whole juice spread. Bryce, who secretly hates eggs, ate every bite. That was the beginning of it all. Since then, they’ve moved in together, started officially dating, gave Ghosty (their cat) a furry brother named Buddy, and built a beautiful life. On May 1, 2025, at Jazz Fest, during “Cigarette Daydreams” by Cage the Elephant, Brock became so nervous that he stood stiff as a board when Bryce tried to dance with him. When the chorus arrived, he pulled out the ring and proposed. Bryce immediately burst into tears, and the rest is history.
