We met like many couples… Through social media and a mutual friend. Jacob reached out to me through an app called snapchat with some sort of spontaneous compliment, followed by asking to take me out sometime. Shortly after our first couple of days of texting we decided to meet up at a mutual friends house for a casual game night. At first we were a little awkward, no surprise there, but as the night went on we found ourselves getting more comfortable with eachother. After that night we pretty much spent every day together after work, on weekends, calling and texting whenever we weren’t together. Neither of us had ever met someone and so quickly felt like we had known eachother for forever. We knew right away after spending one evening together that we had found our soul mate.
When it comes to the proposal, it couldn’t have been more perfect. ‘Our spot’ has always been up Figueroa Mountain. We’ve spent countless days up there driving around, eating snacks, and singing our hearts out to our favorite songs; so what better spot to pop the question. After stopping at the store for our favorite snacks we continued up the mountain for what I thought was just another date drive. Once finding our spot and setting up our blanket Jacob reached into his backpack and pulled out that little box and as he opened it he had the most beautiful words to say as he asked me to be his wife. A day that we’ll both remember and cherish for the rest of our lives.
