From the beginning Bryan wanted the proposal be a complete surprise! He had planned for us to have a regular couple's photo shoot with a friend during my most recent trip to Michigan, and since we had already done that once before, I didn't think anything of it. On the day he proposed, Bryan explained that he had to set up lights for an event for a couple hours when he was really setting up lights on the covered bridge. After he came back to pick me up, he strategically put the ring in his left jacket pocket to keep me from seeing it while he drove. When we arrived his friend Tommy distracted me as Bryan switched the ring from his jacket pocket to his pants pocket. After a short walk down the hill and we got closer to the covered bridge, I noticed that there were petals on the bridge. I thought it was peculiar for a regular couple photos and wondered briefly what was going on before Tommy was telling me to stand somewhere specific. It was then that Bryan turned to me, got down on one knee, and asked me to marry him. And of course I said yes!
