Question

This is a Historic Venue

Answer

There is no electricity outside of the restrooms and DJ location. Please bring a portable power bank if your phone dies easily. Additionally, this is a historic sized venue. Tall friends beware of the chandeliers and door frames.

Question

About Martha-Mary Chapel

Answer

Marth-Mary Chapel was built in Greenfield Village in 1929 inspired by New England's colonial churches that were the center of the community life. Henry Ford named this nondenominational chapel after his mother-in-law, Martha Bench Bryant, and his mother, Mary Litogot Ford. The bricks, front doors and doorknobs are all from his wife, Clara Bryant Ford's, childhood home. The Chapel Bell, Circa 1835, is attributed to the Revere Company, Boston Massachusetts. The first wedding was held in Martha-Mary Chapel on June 22, 1935. The bride, Ellen MacMillan, was from Detroit and the groo, Arther Lamminen, was the director of the soybean extractor plant at Ford Motor Company.

Question

Is There A Dress Code?

Answer

We would like to see our friends and family get dressed up with us! Our dress code is cocktail attire. No Jeans, please! Wedding events will take place in a mix of indoor and outdoor activities, there will be a coat rack at the reception venue.

Question

What Time Should I Arrive For The Ceremony?

Answer

The Ceremony will start promptly at ___pm est. We request that you arrive 15-20 minutes before! The Shuttle from the hotel will be running from ___ to____ if you are staying.

Question

What's the bar situation?

Answer

If you look young you will need ID. Please be prepared to present to the bartender accordingly. We will provide a full open bar with beer, cocktails, and a selection of wine. We will also have non-alcoholic options and coffee available. Service will stop after cocktail hour until everyone is seated in the reception hall for dinner.

Question

The Hotel Is Booked. Where Can I Stay?

Answer

As we are obligated to book a set percentage of the rooms in our block, we did our best to estimate the number of guests that would be staying each night. If the room block is filled you are still welcome to book at the hotel outside of the block (some hotels will honor the discount upon check out although we cannot guarantee this). Alternatively, there are 2 additional hotels in the same lot as The Henry Hotel to wit: WoodSpring Suites Dearborn - Detroit and Extended Stay America - Detroit - Dearborn.

Question

Where do I Park?

Answer

If you are staying at the hotel or nearby and would like to take the shuttle you are welcome to do so! For those driving to the venue please take the service drive behind the village, you will notify security you are here for the Shanley wedding and they will guide you back to a large parking lot. Please do not park near the church as this is reserved for a special event.

Question

Can I Bring A Plus One?

Answer

Due to the limited capacity of our venue, we are unable to accommodate plus ones unless specifically indicated on your wedding invite. (Save the dates will be addressed to family & friends only for now!) We want every to share in the celebration and this will ensure that we are surrounded by our close friends and family.
