“We met in YWAM (Youth With A Mission)!” Katherine came to do her Discipleship Training School in 2018 and Bryan had already done his in 2017, but YWAM Minneapolis couldn’t get rid of him! Although he was in college, he would come to the YWAM campus often to visit friends. Finally, in the summer of 2019 Bryan began pursuing Katherine to get to know her more and they eventually started dating in September 2019. “The first date he took me on was almost just out of a movie! He took me for dinner and a walk, and it felt so good to be listenened to. He asked me all the deep questions about God’s calling on my life!” In June 2020, Bryan asked Katherine’s parents for their blessing to marry her . . . In front of Katherine!!! “It’s a very cultural thing that both the bride and groom are on the same page before proposing. I wanted her to know what was going on the whole time so I knew whether she wanted to marry me or not.” Finally, Bryan asked Katherine to marry him on August 1, 2020 on a boat ride on Lake Minnetonka. You guessed it . . . Katherine knew that was going to happen too! “He put a reminder in his phone and a week before the day, I saw the reminder by accident. I couldn’t believe it! Who needs a reminder for things like that?” He proceeded to ask and she said yes! So many friends and family came to surprise Katherine and celebrate this joyous occassion with this beautiful couple!
