Question

How do I RSVP?

Answer

RSVPs are due no later than August 1, 2024. To RSVP, simply go to the travel portion of the website and follow the link to get in contact with our travel agent. They will take your reservation and a $100 refundable deposit to secure your trip. The travel agent will let us know who has RSVP'd.

When should I be there?

Answer

The wedding will be on May 23, 2025. Devon and I will be there from the 17th - 31st. Please attend for however many days you would like. We encourage everyone to come a few days beforehand to get settled in.

Who can I bring?

Answer

This is your vacation too, you are welcome to bring any one that you would like to share a room with. Unfortunately, the resort has very strict capacity for wedding groups so only the individuals to whom your invitation is addressed will be able to attend the wedding events and book a room with the group. Please note, the resort is an adults-only property. No one under the age of 18 will be permitted on the grounds.

Do I have to spend all of my time with you?

Answer

Absolutely not, while we would like everyone to join us for the wedding, we understand this is a vacation for everyone. Please feel free to spend as much or as little time with us as you like. We will not be offended.

I found a better deal than the travel agent

Answer

Our travel agent will be able to take care of all of your travel needs. If you believe you found a better deal, please let them know and they will work with the resort to have it honored. Any bookings not made with the travel agent will not be included in the group by the resort.

What arrangements do I need to make?

Answer

The travel agent will handle all bookings including hotel, flight, and transportation between the airport and the resort. All you have to do is reach out to them and make sure you have your passport.

What is the dress code?

Answer

The resort requires a dress code for dinner in the on-site restaurants. Please wear dinner attire for the wedding ceremony as well. For gentleman: long pants only (includes elegant jeans, not torn nor ragged ), shirt with collar and long or short sleeves (it can be a polo shirt, a classic shirt, as long as it has a collar and sleeves), elegant shoes (not tennis shoes). For Ladies: Dresses, blouses, skirts, dress jeans (not torn nor ragged), capri pants, elegant Bermudas, dress shoes & elegant sandals.

What is included in all-inclusive?

Answer

Your hotel stay covers everything including food and alcohol. The only items not included are gratuities, upgraded wine available at most restaurants, spa treatments, and lobster. Gratuities are not required but highly encouraged. The hotel staff work very hard to ensure every stay is a five-star experience and truly appreciate the generosity.

The forecast expects rain every day

Answer

The Riviera Maya region of Mexico is situated in a tropical rainforest. Don't be alarmed when the forecast calls for rain every day. Rain typically comes in short bursts if at all but most days are sunny and 85.

Is there a wedding registry?

Answer

All we would like is for our friends and family to share this day with us in paradise. If you feel compelled, please feel free to make a donation through the registry tab of the site. All funds will be donated to charities of our choosing including UCP, WWF, and the American Cancer Society.

Can I take photos during the wedding?

Answer

While we encourage everyone to take photos throughout their time in Mexico, as we anticipate more than a few memorable moments, we will have professional photography and videography during the ceremony and reception so everyone can enjoy the moment.

Will my cellphone work in Mexico?

Answer

The resort has wifi throughout the property. If you plan to use your cellphone, please discuss with your provider as additional charges may accrue.

Is Mexico safe?

Answer

The resort is incredibly safe. If you treat this trip the same as any trip to any large city in the United States everything will be fine. Just beware of any scams. If you're concerned about anything please reach out to Devon or I.

What are the most important takeaways from this board?

Answer

SUNSCREEN! The sun is not like Ohio or Canada sun and sunscreen comes at a premium in Mexico. Appropriate clothes for dinner. Please see the dress code section above as this requirement is enforced by the resort. All bookings are to be done through our travel agent, TripGuy. Make sure you have a passport and it is valid for at least 6 months after the trip.
