Question

When should I arrive?

Answer

It might be a good idea to arrive a little early (10am - 10:15am) in order to find parking around UNM. Mass will start at 10:30am.

Question

Is there a dress code for the Wedding Ceremony?

Answer

There is no enforced dress code to enter the church, however, out of respect for Our Lord, the bride and groom request that women wear proper dresses (not pants or shorts) to the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. “A dress cannot be called decent which is cut deeper than two fingers breadth under the pit of the throat; which does not cover the arms at least to the elbows; and scarcely reaches a bit beyond the knees. Furthermore, dresses of transparent materials are improper.” (The Cardinal Vicar of Pope Pius XI). Chapel veils are also recommended to be worn upon entering the church, but not required. Men are further asked to refrain from wearing shorts or hats to the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.

Question

Can I receive Holy Communion at the Mass?

Answer

Only baptized Catholics in the state of grace may receive the Eucharist. Protestants and other non-catholics may not receive the Eucharist. A Catholic is not in the state of grace if that person has committed a mortal sin. A mortal sin is any sin whose matter is grave and which has been committed willfully and with knowledge of its seriousness. Grave matter includes, but is not limited to, contraception and abortion, homosexual acts, fornication and making out before marriage, drunkenness, getting high, murder, working on Sunday, affiliation with Freemasonry or any other occult organization, and using the Lord's name in vain. Scripture contains lists of mortal sins (for example, 1 Cor. 6:9–10 and Gal. 5:19–21). Catholics must confess any mortal sins before receiving Holy Communion. Catholics must also believe in the Real Presence and fast for at least an hour before Mass. The bride and groom further recommend the pious practice of receiving the Eucharist kneeling and on the tongue.

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please RSVP by October 14, 2020. We need to know who is and isn't coming so we know how much food/cake to get. Thanks!

For all the days along the way
