The weather may still be warm enough to visit the beach here in October. The beach in Long Beach has a fantastic walking trail that spans several miles, but if you would like to swim, we recommend visiting nearby Seal Beach or Sunset Beach (close to Huntington Beach) for better water quality.
We are lucky to have so many historic ships that are permanently docked near Long Beach. If visiting the Queen Mary got you excited about maritime treasures, we recommend taking a tour of the USS Iowa, docked at nearby San Pedro. The USS Iowa (BB-61) is a retired Iowa-class battleship, now a museum ship at the Port of Los Angeles, California. It served in both World War II and the Korean War.
Learn about Pacific marine life at the largest aquarium in the area! It is easy to spend several hours here and definitely worth a visit if you have time and enjoy experiencing sea life.
