It wasn’t until the evening of Mary Tata’s celebration of life that Bruce and Veronica officially met. Although having gone to school together in Glenwood, Iowa, and despite having mutual friends (thank you Spotts sisters!), their paths never crossed up to this point. After exchanging messages for about a week, Bruce and Veronica met up for a non-date, where Veronica showcased her racing prowess at Joe’s Karting, after which Bruce came dangerously close to passing out from the fumes inside the building. After asking for a smooch before parting, he was hooked. Bruce quickly showed his reliability and steadfastness, while Veronica fattened him up with some good home cooking (although he’d say she uses too many vegetables). Funny how they were each faced with their own medical issues so soon in the relationship, giving them each a chance to show their loyalty and commitment to each other to be there when needed. Bruce took his turn first after Veronica suffered from two TIAs, after which Veronica then sat at his bedside after a procedure to correct some minor heart issues. Soon after, they learned that Lola was on her way! Good thing they’d both previously threatened each other that they would be stuck with one another, because there was no going back. One Frances and five years later, here they are, preparing to exchange vows to make it official.
