The Grand Island Mansion’s history dates back to 1917. (Woodrow Wilson was sworn in for a 2nd term, the U.S. entered WWI, & Mata Hari was arrested in Paris for spying.)  It was designed by J. W. Dolliver, the renowned San Francisco architect, for Louis Meyers, a native of San Francisco, and his wife, Audrey, daughter of Lubin of the Weinstock Lubin department stores.
