Zachary and I have actually known each other since kindergarten. We had remained friends until our senior year of high school when a friend had noticed we had a lot in common and was determined to get us together. It wasn't until I asked Zachary to the Sadie Hawkins dance that our love first began. He had been coming by weeks prior to use my jacuzzi and watch Duck Dynasty. It didn't take but three weeks before we knew we were head over heels for each other. Zachary swears that he knew way back in kindergarten that he knew we were always going to end up together. Once we graduated high school Zachary enlisted into the Marine Corps and was stationed in North Carolina. We had spent 4 years long distance while I attended college, but both believe that it was what brought us closer than ever. We know how to appreciate the time that we get to spend together and are so excited about this next phase in our lives!
I still don't know how he did it but Zac was able to completely throw me off. I had no idea how that beautiful Saturday would unfold. About a week before my cousin Miranda had asked if Zac and I could do a photoshoot for her and her husband's photography business. Of course, I said yes but I knew I had to do some convincing to get Zac on board. Little did I know the two had the whole thing planned. On that Saturday we got all dressed up and drove around beautiful Palos Verdes and stopped to take photos. It was when we went to this beautiful church that posed as the perfect backdrop that in the middle of the "photoshoot" that they had perfectly planned a photo so Zac could drop down on one knee to ask me to marry him with the most amazing pear shaped engagement ring. It was such a surprise and I still can't believe we are finally getting married! I think the photos say it all. To top it all off when we were going to another location overlooking the ocean, we arrive at a parking lot where I see a beautiful 1967 Ford Mustang (my ultimate dream car) sitting in the parking lot and I remember telling Zac "OMG look at that car!!" When we had parked and were walking to take more photos, we walk by the car and I joked that Zac got that for me.... and to my surprise he said yes! I obviously thought he was joking. But he pulled out the keys and I see Graham and Miranda taking photos and recording the whole thing. I could not believe it. Not only was I now engaged to my dream guy I was riding off in my dream car! I was absolutely blown away. We drove around Palos Verdes then headed back to my house where I thought it would just be my parents but everyone was in on the deal and when we pulled up our families and friends were outside my house for an engagement party. BEST DAY EVER! I still don't know how I never caught on but I couldn't have asked for anything more special or more romantic. Needless to say, we couldn't be more excited to finally say I DO!
