San Diego MTS (Bus and Trolley) App: Pronto (purple color)
Parking can be a lot General Rules: 1. Get there early, especially if going to the beach. Most beaches fill up before 9 AM 2. If you can pre-pay and can know exactly where to park, probably do that. Ace Parking app is very helpful 3. Be on the lookout for signs and parking meters/machines. Do not risk not paying. Have your card ready, not often able to pay with cash Rehearsal lunch and wedding venue parking: free, big parking lots Mission Beach: free and large parking lots on both sides of street. easiest beach by far to access because of this. still get there before 9 am, 10 at the latest Balboa Park/San Diego Zoo: recently switched to paid parking, locals are protesting because of this so may not be as busy La Jolla Cove: cheap 5 dollar parking at 875 Prospect Avenue (Ace Parking App)- a must use for its value and convenience Liberty Station: free and large parking lots. easiest to park at Sea-Hive Downtown: Avoid if possible, use MTS instead Coronado: Not bad if early, mix of paid and free street parking Neighborhoods: mixture of paid and free parking
Rush hour: weekdays 7-9 AM, 2-6:45 PM. best to plan around rush hour. highways are typically fine over the weekend Getting to wedding venue and Liberty Station: bad traffic bottleneck off the highway that is persistent after 9 AM on weekends. Must be accounted for when going to wedding ceremony Getting to rehearsal lunch: increased traffic due to proximity to airport. Will be a bigger problem leaving lunch than getting to lunch
