We're Getting Married

Our first interaction was one that was a memorable one for sure. It was a game day for our school, and I was sitting in the hallway talking with some of our mutual friends. When Michael sat down he did not know what was about to hit him. One of our friends said something funny and all bets were off. My wheezing laugh came out of nowhere and I am sure scared him. I know I laughed for at least five minutes with him just staring at me. From then on that is how he remembered me, from laughing in the hallway.

Michael and I were best friends for a very long time. We were so close to the point where people thought we were dating. I even had the opportunity to become very close with his family. Before we started dating his family took me in and allowed me to come to Thanksgiving and Christmas. For some this threw them over the edge, they thought for sure we were together; however, we were still just friends. It was at the end of December of 2020 to January of 2021, that I realized for sure that I truly had feelings for Michael that would not go away. I thought perhaps, I could push those feelings down in order to keep my close friendship with him. However, in January, I went on a trip to my college roommate's house and realized, "I really like this guy." When I returned to my house, I was hoping things would go back to normal; but Michael did not see it this way. See, while I was gone on my trip, he too began realizing that he had feelings as well. Michael was also scared to ruin our friendship. I went to Michael's house when I got back that night and we watched a movie, but this time it was different. When I got home that night, I got a text from Michael saying we needed to talk, which scared me half to death; but we did and we began dating a week after. Look at us now; Our story may be unconventional, but it is the story of us.

Michael had planned a whole day for me under the guise of our 9 months and just being a considerate boyfriend. He had told me that we were getting fall pictures and that we needed to coordinate outfits. I was just excited to go get pictures done and spend a whole day with him, uninterrupted. That morning, we went and got breakfast, talked, and got ready before meeting our photographer in Monrovia. She took us down to graffiti road to get the first set of pictures. Little did I know, my whole life was about to change. It started out as normal pictures, till we got the spray paint out. I started painting away, unaware of what was happening behind me. Lisa, our photographer waited till I finished painting and asked, "What are you going to paint, Michael?" When I turned around, there was Michael on one knee asking me to spend the rest of my life with him. I started laughing nervously, but I said yes and he put the ring on my shaky fingers. We were then able to get our engagement pictures done at Anderson Orchard. What a wonderful day, planned by an amazing man!
