Haley and Joe are a "Swipe Right" couple and initially met each other while Joseph was stationed in Florida and Haley had just moved to Virginia. They began talking every day and couldn't get enough of each other. After only a few days of non-stop phone calls and texts, Joe drove all the way to Virginia to "see about a girl". Haley met someone who can match her wit and Joe met someone who can appreciate his humor. Five years of love, laughs and memories later, the rest is history.
Crystal Beach, Maryland is a very important place to Haley. She grew up going down there with her family and it reminds her of her late mother, Robyn, who loved spending time at the beach. Every Memorial Day weekend, Joe and Haley pack up their stuff and head up to Crystal Beach to spend time with family and friends and watch the sunsets. But this particular Memorial Day weekend would change everything. Joe asked Haley to go to dinner on Saturday night, and of course, she gave him a hard time. "We wear sweatpants and drink beer on Memorial Day, why are we dressing up for a dinner?!" Nonetheless, he persisted. Before they left for dinner, Joe took her for a walk to talk with her mom at her memorial down at the cliff. As they were looking over the water, Joe got down on one knee and said, "Haley, you're my best friend, the best thing in my life and I don't want to spend another day without you being my wife." And as she said her resounding yes, friends and family came running over to congratulate them on their engagement. They spent the rest of the night surrounded by friends and family with so much love. It. was. perfect. And Robyn would be proud.
