Man…it’s been a wild ride. Strangers. Then friends. Then friends that should be more but neither of them wanted to do anything about it. Now..here we are. I met Billy in my last semester as a Senior in college. My friend, Mayra dragged me into the lounge to grab something from her friend, Billy. Never heard of the guy, but she promised me we’d get lunch after..so who could say no? Immediately, you could tell that Billy was the friends with everyone, funny, “good” guy. We were only in there for a few minutes, he said something insane, I made fun of him…and then we left. Later that same day, I found this same guy sitting next to me in a Communications class cause the sports major needed some credits and signed up for the wrong class-Classic. Even though he had “his boys” in the class, he came and sat next to me, gave a goofy smile and I could instantly tell we were gonna be friends. We were friends for the rest of the semester, went on lunch dates, and simply grew a friendship that was unmatched. My friends became his friends, we got to know each others families, and after two years of saying we didn’t know what we wanted, a simple friendship grew into an incredible relationship. Billy has a heart bigger than anyone I know, a sense of humor that can break any silence, and always comes with some snacks. He’s made me a better person more than he can imagine, and I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with someone who has the power to do that. Although marrying into a “Jets fan family” has its applied disappointments, I can’t imagine a better genuine soul to be by my side forever.

As a Senior in my last semester in college, I thought I was pretty much done making new friends…and then came this small, little new girl; after cracking one joke (at my expense), I knew she was someone I really enjoyed being around. The next day I saw Morgan in the lounge and I thought to myself "Here is my opportunity, I need to get her phone number". As I proudly walked in, I said "Hey Morgan, I was gonna text you last night to see if we had any homework but realized I didn’t have your phone number haha"......crickets. This girl didn't say anything to me. She didn't even look in my direction...Talk about a real confidence blow. So I did the only normal thing college Billy could think of next…throw something at her. She looked confused, took out her headphones, and paused the video she was watching on her laptop…I wasn't undesirable, I just couldn't be heard!!! Now that I had Morgan's attention I was able to refocus.... Morgan looked at me sideways, and gave a mean smirk. We both knew I didn’t care about homework for a class that didn’t even start yet, but I just needed an excuse to strike up a conversation so Morgan could be reminded about how incredibly lovely, charming, handsome, and funny I am. Still to this day, I think she gave me her number out of pity, but hey, here we are. I spent the entire semester waking up every morning and texting Morgan youtube clips of "The Office" to generate morning conversations. I am convinced that Morgan never watched more than 30 seconds of any of the clips but she always responded back. But man..am I glad she would text me back because as the weeks and months went by I knew she was special. In just a small period of time, Morgan and I went from complete strangers to being the best of friends. In November 2018, Morgan and I officially started dating (only took 2 years for me to ask her out). Every moment together has been an incredible journey and I am so happy that we are able to continue through life together, soon to be a married couple. Life is different when you are with someone you love and I could not ask for a better girl to be by my side. Who else could put up with my vanilla bean ice cream addiction or love sports just as much as I do? All I know for certain is that I am the luckiest guy in the world and I cannot wait until April 26th, 2025 when I get to marry my best friend.
