Historic Brownstones, Cobblestone Streets, and Brooklyn Bridge Park (we play volleyball at Pier 6). Stop by for a pastry at L'Appartement 4F, spend some time in the Brooklyn Cat Cafe, or cross Atlantic for one of the best Burgers in New York - Long Island Bar.
This is where Dick almost fell down on the ice after proposing. Come see where we got ENGAGED!!! There won't be as many lights or ice skating, but it's still great to check out and you'll be right by FAO Shwarz, Top of the Rock, 5th Avenue for shopping, and a 10 minute walk to Central Park.
It's iconic - they've even got a zoo! Maybe sneak in a jog on the running path (if that's your thing), and you gotta see the view of the city from the Great Lawn (this is where Dick plays softball).
Great museum! One of our favorites, and if you know someone from NYC, like us, you can borrow their ID and pay what you want for entry (otherwise it's a $30 entry fee).
Another great museum, this time with a planetarium! $25 entry fee.
Our local-team, and a great stadium. Mets play a home-series with the Cardinals over the weekend, and a home-series against the Cubs starting Monday.
If the weather is right, you may be just in time to see the cherry blossoms in full bloom. It's a beautiful garden - $18 entry fee, and you'll be right next to Prospect Park, Brooklyn Museum, Brooklyn Public Library, and across the park from Park Slope (historic neighborhood with great food).
This is where we live! And it's honestly our favorite park of Brooklyn. The brownstones are beautiful, the neighborhood is full of wonderful bars and restaurants, and it's super-accessible from the subway on the G. You'll also be right on the border of Fort Greene and Clinton Hill for more Brooklyn neighborhood sightseeing. Reach out for recommendations and we'll probably join you for a drink at Cap'n Dan's or Izzy Rose!
This is the neighborhood where the wedding will be, and it's a great little slice of New York to check out! It's one of the busier parts of Brooklyn, but that also means it's full of great spots (including some of our favorites). McCarren Park is where we play softball on the weekends, and it's all easily accessible from the G or L. Reach out for recommendations because several in the wedding party currently live there and can give you a solid list of the best spots to check out.
This is where the party will be happening one the weekend! If you're trying to get out and experience Manhattan Nightlife, this would be the area. Ask for recommendations (and an Uber home afterwards).
Some of our favorite food and karaoke places are on this strip of midtown between 5th/6th Avenues on 32nd Street. In the shadow of the Empire State Building, and it's like a mini portal to Seoul.
