In 2017, our workplace at Navy Federal credit union introduced us, placing us side by side in the same division. We became cubicle buddies, sharing laughs and occasional breaks until the disruption of the pandemic in 2020 sent us home to work remotely. During those years, Stavie has showed interest in me, but my focus was split between the demands of being a full-time employee and a full-time student. I valued our friendship but never saw him as anything more. Time passed, and our lives took different paths when I transitioned out of the division, landing a new position in February 2022. Surprisingly, Stavie and I reconnected on Facebook, reigniting our bond over our shared love for Kirby and other nerdy things. Our conversations became a daily ritual, deepening our connection with each passing day. As we delved into each other's lives, our hearts began to intertwine, leading us to realize the depth of our feelings. On April 17, 2022, we took a big leap of faith and made it official. Our journey from colleagues to friends to partners is the proof that an unexpected connection and love can bloom in the most unexpected places.
