Christian and I drove into New Orleans at the start of our Thanksgiving Break in 2021. What I thought was going to be a quick lunch at Bratz Yall turned into the surprise of a lifetime. We were running late (based on Christian's schedule), so "before lunch" Christian suggested we take a walk through one of our favorite places, Crescent Park. As we strolled to the edge of the Wharf overlooking the Mississippi River, Christian got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife. We were both shaking so much, I thought he might drop the ring in the river. My two best friends, Maddy and Olivia, came running out of their hiding spots while snapping pictures and videos. After a champagne toast and more photos, we headed to our next surprise location. We arrived at Bacchanal where our friends and family were waiting with wine, cheese, and king cake to celebrate. We checked into our room at the Hotel Monteleone and prepared for our night out! We grabbed a Lucky Dog outside the hotel before meeting our friends and family at City Park for Jingle Bells & Beer. We had a blast having drinks and riding amusement rides with the people we love most.
