Marissa and Ben first met in 2018 when she studied abroad in London and was randomly placed at Ben’s company for her summer internship. There was an instant spark across the office, but it was only after the internship ended that they really connected. Marissa left London and for the next year they kept in touch across the Atlantic. In October 2019, while Ben was in NYC for a space conference, Marissa flew up from Florida for the weekend. Anastasia said if Marissa didn’t like Ben after that then there’s no point in continuing to talk to him. She bravely came, and the two of them spent days exploring the city that would eventually become their home, wandering the streets, sharing coffee and laughter, and falling deeply in love. Marissa welcomed the New Year 2020 with Ben in London, and in March he flew to Florida to meet her family (and happily won them over). Just as he touched down back in the UK, the world changed with the arrival of Covid. Though 2020 brought real challenges and saw Ben’s businesses suffer, it also gave them an unexpected gift: Marissa was able to join him in London for months at a time, with no distractions. They lived together around the clock, cooking, laughing and growing impossibly close. The rest is history. In December 2024 Ben proposed, and on 3 March 2025 they quietly married at City Hall, partly for Ben's green card but mostly because they wanted two celebrations instead of one. They marked the moment with a joyful engagement and green card party in September 2025. Now we’re returning to where it all began, London, for the wedding we have always dreamed of. This time we’ll make Marissa a permanent Gamble in heart and mind, just as she already is on paper. We cannot wait to share this next chapter with you all!
