Greenville's Falls Park on the Reedy has been named a “Top U.S. Park” by TripAdvisor several years in a row, along with Central Park and Golden Gate Park. Our first apartment together was within walking distance of this park - the views never get old, and it's dog friendly! Stroll within the park’s 36 acres of gardens, green spaces, and historic ruins of mills that once made their home on the Reedy River.

There are many state parks and hiking trails nearby. One of our favorite state parks for hiking is Caesars Head, and then a follow-up drive to Pretty Place. The most popular hike at Caesars Head is Raven Cliff Falls Trail, where you can view the tallest waterfall in South Carolina from a distance. (Total 4.4-mile loop)
You can find peaceful solitude at Symmes Chapel, an open-air sanctuary overlooking the rolling hills of Greenville County. Known by locals as "Pretty Place," this site more than earns its name! The chapel is perched atop Stone Mountain in YMCA Camp Greenville and is closed to the public during camp/wedding functions. NOTE: Check their daily schedule before making the drive!
One of our favorite Italian restaurants is in the heart of downtown Greenville- Jianna. House-made pasta is created daily! Italian favorites like burrata, char-grilled octopus, potato gnocchi, Italian cheeses, spaghetti, and unique preparations of fresh seafood fill the menu.
This is more than just a steak house -Saskatoon is famous for its wild game. If you want to be adventurous, try the kangaroo, elk, buffalo, antelope, alligator, and ostrich. We did, and it did not disappoint! 😊 For those who prefer simple things, they also serve delicious selections of beef, pork, duck, and seafood.
Soby's southern cuisine uses fresh, seasonal products. Some signature dishes include barbecue shrimp & grits, fried green tomatoes with jalapeno pimento cheese, and crab cakes remoulade. The 500+ bottle wine list is a consistent winner of Wine Spectator and Wine Enthusiast awards. Whether you want a quiet little booth for two, an outdoor table along Greenville's bustling Main Street, or a larger, private party on the mezzanine overlooking the kitchen, Soby's atmosphere is always perfect! The restaurant opened in 1997 and is housed in the warm environment of a renovated, century-old building.
There's nothing like a good bookstore! Housed in the former Greenville County Courthouse in downtown Greenville, M. Judson is Greenville's most popular literary hub. Find that perfect Southern read and pair it with salted rosemary shortbread and a latte (or glass of wine) from Camilla Kitchen.
The Mast General Store is Greenville's old-timey downtown emporium featuring a unique mix of clothing, outdoor gear, candy, and knick-knacks that make the perfect gifts! At first, we thought it was only outdoor equipment/clothing. To our surprise, it is also filled with cast iron cookware, pottery, old-fashioned toys, and a candy section featuring over 500 classics.
