Another option is to fly into LAX. It's cheaper to fly into from most places, and then you can rideshare/drive a rental car (2-3 hours depending on traffic), train to Santa Barbara (2.5 hours @ $30/pp), or take the Airbus shuttle (2.5 hours @ $60/pp).
