Our Story

Danielle and Tony first met when they lived in the Washington, D.C. area 2013-2019. They caught each other's eye on the DC Metro Orange Line on their respective ways home from boozy brunches downtown. A brief conversation transpired, but the two star-crossed lovers were quickly ushered apart, as it was Tony’s stop. Tony, brimming with confidence fueled by the 11 mimosas, shouted to Danielle as the doors were closing: "I'll see you again sometime soon, and one day I'm gonna make you my wife!". The two crossed paths frequently over their time in DC, and soon a magical proposal ensued and they moved out to California together, where they've been engaged for 6 years, have a happy life together, and finally decided to make it official with a proper wedding.... (If you believe any of the above, we have to wonder if you are actually close enough to be invited to their wedding. While Danielle and Tony did both live in the D.C. area after college, the two never met during their time there.) Their love story actually takes place in San Diego, CA. Tony moved out West in July 2021 in search of greener pastures. He focused his energy on himself, making friends, and keeping active playing soccer, volleyball, pickleball, golf, etc. Danielle found her way down to San Diego in July 2023. She quickly made a great group of friends with girls from her gym, and similar to Tony, was focused on health, fitness, friendship, and dating with intention. It took their mutual friends until February 2024 to have a light bulb moment and realize that Tony and Danielle would be the perfect match. After Tony mustered up the courage to slide into Danielle’s DMs, the two had a wonderful first date of smoothies, mini-golf (nobody remembers who won, although Danielle claims it was her), a rooftop bar to watch the sunset, and topped it off with ice cream. Some mutual attraction clearly existed, as the two then rattled off 4 or 5 dates within the following week before Tony went off the grid for a kayaking trip. They continued their courtship over the months, spending more and more time together, and soon became inseparable. Danielle gave up her beach bungalow and the two moved in together this past October. After a year of dating, Tony planned a surprise proposal at Windansea Beach in San Diego on March 7, 2025, aided by the support of friends and family that helped make the moment extra special. Danielle gave a teary-eyed "Yes", and our happy couple was well on their way to where we find them today. While their love story may seem a bit fast paced to the outside eye, everyone who has witnessed it first-hand can testify that this is an example of the cliche “when you know, you know”. And Tony and Danielle know!
